Goals of the Practice—Health, Balance, a Model for Wellness in Your Life

The goal of my practice is to help each client achieve health, balance and wellness. To accomplish this, we will work together to develop a comprehensive wellness plan that is individually tailored to your specific needs and goals, and which considers your own physical and emotional issues.

Step one – Information

Each client will fill out a detailed medical history covering major illnesses, surgeries, other medical conditions, injuries and lifestyle considerations (stress, diet, sleep, relationships, work issues etc.).

Step two – a conversation about you

Together we will deeply examine and discuss your history to form a mutual understanding of your current wellness. Then we will establish wellness goals and develop an action plan to achieve these goals. Remember that wellness is first and foremost a choice to assume responsibility for the quality of your life. It begins with a conscious decision to be well and healthy. Your wellness plan will be tailor made to your specific needs, goals, and physical and emotional issues.

Step Three – your session

Treatment sessions will include bodywork/massage that is designed for you specifically. It will incorporate various techniques (i.e., deep tissue, trigger point therapy, along with Asian forms of massage such as Tui-na, Thai Yoga Massage, and energy work such as Reiki).

The goal of the bodywork is to bring your mind/body/spirit further toward health and balance. The treatment sessions will change as your needs change and as you progress along the wellness continuum. Different techniques will be incorporated as your readiness grows. All the services I offer are part of a healing process. It is a lifelong journey to find and then to maintain wellness. I will meet you where you are on the journey and together we will learn the skills you can use for a lifetime of health. Through my knowledge and training, your willingness to change, and the relationship of love, support, nurturing and care that we will build through this healing process, you will develop the tools you need to make necessary changes in your life, and to face any challenge with peace, calm, balance and strength.

Step Four: Post Session and Follow Up

After each session, we will discuss your progress, how you are feeling, and what the plan will be for our next visit. I will follow up with you between session by phone or email.

Treatment Schedule – How often should you receive bodywork?

How often you visit is dependent on your specific needs. Generally, if you are a healthy person, there are few contraindications for massage. Most regular clients see me once a month, but some see me weekly or every other week as indicated by their needs, and the goals of their wellness plan.
